Located in southwestern Saudi Arabia, Aseer, known as the Land of Mist, is distinguished by its remarkable geographical and cultural diversity. The region borders Makkah Region to the north, Najran Region to the east, and the Red Sea coast to the west.
Its varied terrain ranges from the towering Sarawat Mountains to deep valleys, including Abha Valley, as well as fertile plains that support agricultural communities. During the summer months, Aseer's highlands enjoy mild temperatures accompanied by intermittent rainfall.
The region boasts diverse vegetation. Juniper forests cover the highlands, while sidr, tamarisk, and palm trees flourish across the plains. Its heritage villages and farming communities reflect the values of traditional Arab hospitality and harmony between people and their natural surroundings.
These tourism support efforts are being carried out through a partnership between the Roads General Authority (RGA) and the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA). The road sector is regarded as a key enabler of tourism.
The RGA oversees the sector through the development of policies and regulations aimed at achieving the objectives of the Roads Sector Program, which is built on the pillars of safety, quality, and efficient traffic flow.
