Jeddah, July (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 03 يوليو 2026ء) The challenge aims to discover and support emerging filmmaking talent and stimulate creativity among young filmmakers through an intensive hands-on experience, enabling participants to produce a short film in just 48 hours. The challenge is open to aspiring filmmakers aged 18 to 25, who will form creative teams of up to five members led by a Saudi director.
Selected teams will attend a specialized short film production workshop before the challenge begins, which involves writing, shooting, and editing a film of between three and six minutes based on elements announced just before production starts.
The two winning teams will receive awards, with their team leaders receiving a residency opportunity in France in 2027. Winning films will be screened at the next edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival, with the closing ceremony taking place in Jeddah in September.
Applications can be submitted before submissions close tomorrow through https://redseafilmfest.com/en/48hours-film-challenge/.
