Socotra, July (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 02 يوليو 2026ء) The strategic shipment will secure the operational capacity of Socotra's power plants over the coming months, directly improving the living standards of residents and mitigating the severe logistical challenges posed by the island's harsh four-month climatic shift.
The delivery is part of the SDRPY's comprehensive support strategy for Yemen's energy sector. The program currently supplies fuel to over 70 power plants across various Yemeni governorates, reinforcing the continuity of vital public services and supporting broader economic recovery.
To date, the program has provided multiple major petroleum derivative grants to sustain Yemen's core institutions and drive development, including $180 million in 2018, $422 million in 2021, $200 million in 2022, and the ongoing 2026 allocation.
