Jeddah, June (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 29 يونيو 2026ء) Jeddah Astronomy Society Director Majed Abu Zahra explained that the name has a local cultural significance and no scientific basis. It is inspired by the association of the full moon with the mango season, similar to seasonal Names used in some cultures.
He stated that the moon will rise around sunset and remain visible throughout the night, reaching its full phase at 2:56 a.m. Makkah time. Near the horizon, it may appear larger than usual due to the well-known "moon illusion," while atmospheric conditions may give it an orange or reddish hue.
