Ministry of Tourism Launches AI Tourism Vision to Shape the Future of Global Tourism

Riyadh, June (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 29 يونيو 2026ء) The launch builds on the Kingdom's broader efforts to harness advanced technologies to support economic growth and enhance the competitiveness of key sectors. It also builds on the Riyadh Declaration on the Future of Tourism, adopted by the 26th General Assembly of UN Tourism, which called for accelerating the adoption of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, to reshape the future of global tourism.

The AI Tourism Vision provides an integrated strategic framework for building a more intelligent, efficient, and sustainable tourism ecosystem. It focuses on deploying AI across the visitor journey, supporting investors and tourism businesses, and enabling national talent and professionals to use advanced technologies to improve service quality and unlock greater economic value.

A key milestone under the AI Tourism Vision is the launch of TourismX, a global platform dedicated to tourism AI acting as the new digital infrastructure for the future of the sector. TourismX reflects the Ministry's view that artificial intelligence will become central to how destinations, experiences, businesses, and services are designed, managed, and delivered.

The beta version of TourismX includes a suite of AI-powered tools designed to support tourism businesses and professionals, including Hotel Interior AI Designer, MenuCraft AI, AI Identity Designer, AI Hotel SOP Generator, Tour Guide AI Assistant, and AI Tour Script Generator, in addition to other tools that help accelerate operations and improve business efficiency.

Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb said: “Just as infrastructure reshaped economies over past decades, artificial intelligence is now reshaping how we discover destinations, design experiences, and manage tourism services. This is why Saudi Arabia is launching the AI Tourism Vision, to build a more innovative, efficient, and sustainable future for the sector.”

Al-Khateeb added: “We are leveraging AI to enhance the visitor experience, empower investors, and improve the productivity of operators and professionals across the sector. Our ambition is for Saudi Arabia to become the global benchmark for smart tourism, and a model for using technology to serve people and improve quality of life.”

The Ministry also announced the beta launch of the Saudi MT App, an AI-powered application that brings the Ministry’s services into one unified platform for investors, tourism business owners, tour guides, and other beneficiaries. The app enables users to access a range of digital services, supported by the AI assistant Noura.

To further support innovation and digital solution development, the Ministry launched the MT Developer Portal, which provides a unified environment for APIs and digital integration. The portal enables developers and technology partners to build scalable solutions that support the growth of the Kingdom's digital tourism ecosystem.

The launch also builds on a wider portfolio of digital initiatives led by the Ministry, including the Smart Inspector, which supported field inspection teams during the Hajj 1447H season, and the Smart Check-In tool, which helped improve the efficiency of pilgrim reception and distribution across accommodation facilities.

The Ministry continues to develop an integrated digital ecosystem that connects its platforms and services, providing a smoother and more efficient experience for all beneficiaries while strengthening the sector's readiness to keep pace with rapid global technological change.

The announcement of the AI Tourism Vision comes during the Year of AI 2026, designated by the ministers cabinet chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. It reflects the Kingdom’s position as a global center for data and artificial intelligence and underscores the leadership’s continued support for adopting advanced technologies and directing them toward national development.

The launch also reinforces the Ministry of Tourism’s commitment to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which places tourism at the heart of national transformation as a key economic and social enabler that advances economic diversification and job creation and positions the Kingdom as a leading global tourism destination.
