Manama, June (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 26 يونيو 2026ء) His remarks came during the GCC-US Joint Ministerial Meeting held yesterday in Manama under the chairmanship of Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs and current chairman of the GCC Ministerial Council Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, with the participation of United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the attendance of GCC foreign ministers.
Albudaiwi said the meeting emphasized that any future understandings or arrangements should take into account the requirements of GCC countries in a manner that safeguards their interests and ensures their security and stability. He added that such arrangements should be based on the principles of international law, respect for state sovereignty, good-neighborliness, and non-interference in the internal affairs of states, thereby contributing to regional security and stability.
He noted that GCC countries welcomed all diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting security and stability in the region, as well as ensuring the security of maritime corridors, including the Strait of Hormuz, freedom of navigation, and respect for the rules of international law, in a manner that supports security and prosperity for the peoples of the region and the world.
He added that GCC foreign ministers and the US secretary of state reviewed several regional issues, their developments, and their implications for the security of GCC countries and the region, as well as the efforts being made to address them.
