Jeddah, June (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 23 يونيو 2026ء) Diving instructor Raed Al-Ghamdi spoke to SPA about the Red Sea as one of the world’s premier diving destinations, renowned for its exceptional water clarity, unique biodiversity, and extensive coral reef formations, offering an exceptional environment for diving enthusiasts, researchers, and marine life observers.
He said Jeddah’s coastline offers a unique combination of natural and tourism assets that have helped establish it as one of the Kingdom’s leading diving hubs. These include the diversity of its coral reefs, easy access to offshore sites, favorable weather and sea conditions for much of the year, and the continued development of diving centers and marine services.
The dive sites off Jeddah’s coast, most notably Abu Tair and Bayadah, are known for their rich marine habitats and abundant sea life. Divers can encounter a variety of species, including sea turtles, grouper, barracuda, Napoleon wrasse, and, during certain seasons, dolphins.
Al-Ghamdi stressed the importance of protecting the marine environment through responsible diving practices and active participation in awareness and conservation efforts to safeguard coral reefs and marine life.
Divers play a valuable role in monitoring environmental changes and contributing to the preservation of marine resources, Al-Ghamdi said.
He said Jeddah and the Red Sea’s natural assets, along with Saudi Arabia’s advanced infrastructure, make the Kingdom well placed to cement its position as a leading global diving and marine tourism destination.
