Al-Ahsa, June (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 19 يونيو 2026ء) Supervisor of Strategic Planning and Institutional Identity Administration Dr. Ahmed Al-Safran stated that the university's results in the QS World University Rankings 2027 reflect a sustained upward trajectory in its academic and research performance and growing global presence.
He noted that this progress came as a result of integrated institutional efforts and quality initiatives implemented across various academic and administrative sectors, contributing to strengthening the university's international standing and supporting its strategic objectives, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Human Capability Development Program.
Supervisor of the Global Rankings Unit at the university Dr. Norah Alsadun explained that the university continued its progress for the third consecutive year, moving from the 761-770 band globally in the 2025 edition to 648th globally in the 2026 edition, before achieving a new leap by climbing 81 places to reach 567th globally in the 2027 edition. She noted that this progress resulted from continuous improvement across several key ranking indicators, foremost among them academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty research citations, international collaboration, and sustainability, affirming that these results strengthen the university's international standing and confirm the effectiveness of its efforts to develop its academic and research ecosystem.
The QS World University Rankings is one of the most prominent and influential international rankings in higher education, measuring university performance and competitiveness according to key indicators including academic reputation, employer reputation, research citations, faculty-to-student ratio, international collaboration, sustainability, and employment outcomes, providing a global benchmark for academic and research performance quality and university standing internationally.
