Jeddah, June (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 18 يونيو 2026ء) Last year saw numerous initiatives and projects implemented to preserve heritage assets and historic landmarks, upgrade public facilities, and enhance building efficiency to safeguard the area’s distinctive architectural identity.
More than 120 approved investment opportunities and over 850 new commercial activities resulted in more than 10,000 jobs created in the area, driving economic growth, enhancing investment prospects, and advancing sustainable development goals.
A total of 28 historic buildings were studied and documented, while 717 buildings were classified under the Law of Antiquities, Museums, and Urban Heritage.
Restoration and rehabilitation works were carried out on 30 heritage buildings spanning more than 24,000 square meters, while historic sites in the area attracted over 12,500 visitors throughout the year.
