Sakaka, June (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 18 يونيو 2026ء) The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) said the achievement adds to the qualitative milestones recorded by the region in land rehabilitation, noting that Al-Tamariyat Station for Field Experiments and Pastoral Seeds Production received a Guinness World Records certificate as the world’s largest sustainable desert plant plantation, contributing to seed production, environmental rehabilitation operations, and combating desertification.
It also received a certificate for the largest seasonal collection, after setting a record by collecting 95 tonnes of wild and pastoral seeds, the NCVC said.
The NCVC stated that the achievement reflects the advancement of national capabilities in producing native plants and supporting large-scale vegetation cover development efforts, noting that the nursery complex spans approximately 120,000 square meters and includes 28 protected greenhouses equipped with the latest agricultural technologies.
It contributes to ecosystem restoration, rangeland rehabilitation, and the enhancement of vegetation cover in degraded areas, the NCVC noted.
The NCVC added that the complex operates under sustainable operational policies focused on environmental protection, efficient resource use, and production quality.
The complex applies strict procedures for monitoring production processes, documenting operations, and ensuring the quality, traceability, and verification of seedlings. It noted that the work is based on an integrated system of operational procedures and internationally approved quality standards, ensuring the highest levels of efficiency and reliability.
The NCVC stated that this integration of seed production, collection, and seedling production contributes to strengthening environmental sustainability, combating desertification, and supporting the objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative to develop vegetation cover and protect natural resources.
