Riyadh, June (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 17 يونيو 2026ء) Alsahli said the growth reflects the transformation taking place in urban mobility patterns across Saudi Arabia. He noted that public transport usage exceeded 420 million passengers in 2025, representing a 129% increase compared with 2019.
He added that increasing reliance on public transport and improving integration among its various modes are among the most effective ways to reduce traffic congestion.
Alsahli also highlighted the joint efforts of government entities, academic institutions, and the private sector to develop sustainable solutions based on research and practical application. He noted that the authority is working with cities across the Kingdom to expand public transport services, which now cover 20 cities and governorates.
