Farmers also highlight that affordable seedlings in local nurseries, along with knowledge sharing among growers, have contributed to the recent expansion, especially as cultivation trials have proven successful across different environments in the region.
Mulberry cultivation is also seen as a promising economic opportunity for both small-scale farms and larger agricultural projects, with potential for value-added processing to generate income and diversify production. These developments align with broader efforts to enhance agricultural sustainability in Al-Jouf and improve the use of natural resources in support of the Kingdom’s agricultural development goals.
