Saudi Arabia Participates in the Digital Regulation Network Board Meeting Held in Georgia

Tbilisi, February (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 13 فبراير 2026ء) In the presence of CST's Deputy Governor for Regulation and Competition and a member of the network's board Eng. Omar Alrejraji, the meeting was chaired by Director of the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) Dr. Cosmas Zavazava. Board members discussed preparations and directions for the 2026 edition of the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR), by shaping the global regulatory agenda and identifying priority topics for this year's upcoming symposium. The board also highlighted initiatives to be addressed within regional regulatory associations and encouraged their adoption to accelerate sustainable digital transformation.

Alrejraji also participated in the "Future of the internet: WSIS Processes, Multistakeholder Cooperation" panel discussion, where he highlighted the Kingdom's key role in supporting global collaboration in sustaining and regulating the Communication, Space, and Technology sectors through CST's initiatives and projects with the ITU.

He outlined strategies for accelerating sustainable digital transformation for all, maintaining cross-sector and cross-regional coordination, and emphasizing the importance of directing multistakeholder efforts toward improving the quality of the regulatory environment and strengthening international cooperation.

DRN was established with the objective of seeking to accelerate sustainable digital transformation, discuss notable challenges and opportunities and exchange best practices by promoting and applying collaborative mechanism in the digital regulation across cross-border economic sectors.

The network brings together 13 entities representing regulatory authorities from different regions of the world and aims to strengthen international cooperation in the digital economy while fostering an environment that supports innovation and investment.
