Saudi Student Al-Ghamdi Joins Nobel Laureate Yaghi’s Research Team At UC Berkeley

Washington, October (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 17 اكتوبر 2025ء) Al-Ghamdi, studying under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program, continues his undergraduate studies while contributing to advanced research in chemistry, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing.

Al-Ghamdi achieved a remarkable national accomplishment at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), earning top recognition for his research and marking the highest individual achievement by a Saudi participant in the competition’s history. He has since continued his research journey at one of the world’s leading scientific institutions.

His current work involves projects focused on high-throughput synthesis using robotic platforms, crystal characterization through X-ray diffraction and advanced microscopy, and molecular simulations and computational data analysis to accelerate the discovery of new materials.

Al-Ghamdi has published research in prestigious international journals, including Nature Synthesis and the Molecular Frontiers Journal. He also leads a project developing a new gallium-based zeolitic framework, resulting in innovative structures that support future applications in sustainability, energy, and water.
