Minister of Industry Begins Official Visit to Hellenic Republic

Riyadh, October (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 05 اكتوبر 2025ء) The official program includes a series of high-level government meetings. The minister will meet with Minister of Development of Greece Dr. Takis Theodorikakos to discuss economic collaboration and investment frameworks. He will also hold talks with Minister of the Environment and Energy Stavros Papastavrou to explore cooperation in mining and mineral processing. In addition, the minister will tour the Elefsis Shipyards to examine areas of collaboration in the shipbuilding industry and exchange of expertise between the two countries.

On Tuesday, October 7, the agenda will focus on strengthening business-to-business relations through a business Roundtable, co-chaired by the Saudi minister and the Greek minister of development, bringing together leading figures from the industrial and mining sectors of both nations to identify opportunities for partnership and joint ventures.

The visit builds on the strategic framework established during the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to Greece in 2022, which resulted in the creation of the Saudi-Greek Strategic Partnership Council, and on the Greek prime minister's subsequent visit to the Kingdom in January 2025.

Discussions will focus on translating the council’s strategic vision into concrete industrial and trade partnerships. A key topic will be the untapped potential for growth in non-oil trade, which reached $485.2 million in 2024, as well as the promotion of Saudi exports to Greece.

The visit also highlights key areas of mutual interest, including food processing, downstream chemicals, and metals industries, particularly aluminum extraction and processing, in which both countries possess strong expertise. The Kingdom is also a key exporter of petrochemical products to Greece, and these meetings will provide a platform to strengthen knowledge exchange and facilitate the transfer of advanced technologies across these strategic sectors.

The Saudi-Greek Strategic Partnership Council has driven steady bilateral growth through its institutional mechanisms, including the Investment and Trade Committee, the Culture Committee, and the Saudi-Greek Business Council.

The visit of Minister Alkhorayef represents the next step in advancing industrial integration, expanding market access, and reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as Greece’s second-largest trading partner in the region, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
