Riyadh, September (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 29 سبتمبر 2025ء) Under this agreement, Tarshid will develop and bear the full cost of executing the project, as well as operate and maintain the solar plant over a 25-year period, enabling Bisha Cement Plant to benefit from renewable energy solutions without incurring any capital expenditure or operational burdens, thereby strengthening its industrial position through the adoption of sustainable renewable energy solutions.
The system, said the release, is expected to generate up to 42 GWh annually, integrated with the plant’s existing power systems to ensure the highest levels of operational efficiency and provide a sustainable energy source.
The impact of energy savings is expected to gradually appear starting from the first year of operation. As for the environmental impact, the project will have a positive impact equivalent to saving more than 1.6 million barrels of oil and avoiding around 575,000 metric tons of harmful carbon emissions over the contract period—comparable to the environmental benefit of planting more than 395,000 tree seedlings.

Aqeel bin Kadasah emphasized that the solar power project at the Bisha Cement Plant demonstrates the company’s firm commitment to cutting carbon emissions and advancing the Kingdom’s transition toward clean and sustainable energy. He noted that this initiative is part of the company’s continuous drive to adopt green solutions that align with Saudi Vision 2030 and strengthen the role of national industry in shaping a low-carbon economy and a more sustainable future.
The signing of this agreement is part of Tarshid’s commitment to its leading role in accelerating the adoption of sustainable energy solutions across the industrial and commercial sectors while enabling the private sector to contribute to achieving the Kingdom’s sustainability goals in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
