He praised Qatar for organizing the forum, which reflects its commitment to dialogue and multilateralism.
The GCC secretary-general highlighted the pivotal role of GCC countries in global humanitarian work, noting their consistent commitment to peace through dialogue and diplomacy.
He stated that the GCC countries are the fourth largest global donor for relief and humanitarian work. Between 2020 and 2025, the council provided nearly $14 billion in official humanitarian aid. According to OCHA 2024 data, the total contributions from GCC countries amounted to $3.04 billion.
Albudaiwi stressed that GCC countries actively engage in mediation and preventive diplomacy to resolve crises. Examples include mediation in the Russia-Ukraine crisis, Qatar's efforts to stabilize the truce in Gaza, Oman's role in facilitating US-Iranian dialogue, and Saudi Arabia's efforts through the Jeddah platform to resolve the conflict in Sudan, alongside work to reintegrate Syria into its Arab and international surroundings.
Concluding his remarks, the secretary-general emphasized that current global challenges—from armed conflicts and humanitarian crises to development gaps and climate change—require a collaborative, multilateral approach. He affirmed that the GCC countries aspire to continue being a crossroads for trade and culture, a bridge for dialogue, and a platform for practical solutions that benefit all of humanity.
