NCVC, Cloud Seeding Program Partner to Rehabilitate 33 Sites Nationwide

Riyadh, September (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 26 سبتمبر 2025ء) This collaboration represents an advanced model of integrated environmental planning by aligning target rehabilitation sites with cloud seeding operation maps. The approach directs efforts toward priority areas, maximizes the use of available water resources, and creates optimal conditions for seed germination and plant growth.

Under the initiative, approximately 80 metric tons of native rangeland seeds from 40 scientifically selected species with recognized ecological and economic value will be sown to restore degraded rangelands and strengthen natural ecosystems.

The targeted sites span diverse landscapes across Al-Jouf, Northern Borders, Hail, Qassim, Madinah, Makkah, Riyadh, Eastern Region, and Aseer, ensuring broad geographic coverage and ecological variety.

This initiative is being carried out in close cooperation with the Cloud Seeding Program as part of NCVC’s broader efforts to rehabilitate natural rangelands, combat desertification, reduce sand encroachment, and improve soil fertility and water retention. It also aims to enhance biodiversity by creating suitable habitats for native plants and supporting the return of wildlife, ultimately contributing to food security through healthier rangeland ecosystems.
