New York, September (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 24 سبتمبر 2025ء) His remarks came at the opening of a high-level session organized by Saudi Arabia, represented by SDAIA, as part of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80) in New York. The session was held in partnership with Kenya and the International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), with support from the United Nations Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies (ODET), and attended by a broad international audience.
Eng. Muqeem emphasized that the Kingdom's partnership with the United Nations reflects its belief that the challenges of artificial intelligence require global solutions. He recalled that since the first World AI Summit in 2020, the Kingdom has launched a series of initiatives aimed at advancing AI for the benefit of humanity.
In 2023, Saudi Arabia joined the UN Advisory board on Artificial Intelligence, and in 2024, hosted the largest consultation session in cooperation with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), enabling the Advisory Board to continue its work in the region.
He added that SDAIA remains committed to working with the United Nations to enhance capabilities, build skills, and ensure that all countries benefit from AI opportunities. He highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts in hosting the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit, which brought together representatives from more than 100 countries, and establishing ICAIRE in Riyadh under UNESCO supervision as a global platform to promote dialogue, exchange best practices, and support the responsible use of artificial intelligence in ways that uphold human dignity and prosperity.
