New York, September (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 23 سبتمبر 2025ء) The two officials discussed various topics, notably the relations between the GCC and Lebanon and ways to enhance them for mutual interests. They also reviewed the positive developments in Lebanon aimed at achieving greater prosperity and security for the brotherly Lebanese people, alongside exchanging views on the latest regional and international developments.
The secretary-general reiterated the GCC's firm stance towards the Lebanese Republic, emphasizing continued support for its sovereignty, security, and stability, and backing for reform and rebuilding of the Lebanese state.
He also stressed the necessity of implementing UN Security Council resolutions concerning Lebanon, particularly Resolution 1701 and the Taif Agreement, to restore permanent security and stability in the country, ensure respect for its territorial integrity, political independence, and sovereignty within its internationally recognized borders, and extend the Lebanese government's control over all Lebanese territory to meet the aspirations of the Lebanese people for a more secure, prosperous, and stable future.
