Al-Baha Region Implements Strategic Road Projects to Enhance Traffic Efficiency, Support Tourism, Economy

Al-Baha, August (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 28 أغسطس 2025ء) Al-Baha Region enjoys a unique geographical character, combining the Sarawat and Tihama, with towering mountains and deep valleys shaping its terrain. This has made the road network a vital element for connecting governorates, towns, and villages within the region, as well as boosting its integration with other regions of the Kingdom.

In this regard, the authority oversees more than 2,600 kilometers of asphalt roads on the operational side, including key mountain passes in Sarawat and Tihama, with nearly SAR200 million allocated for their preparation, quality assurance, and safety through several maintenance projects. Efforts also include the upkeep of dirt roads and the operation and maintenance of tunnel lighting and ventilation systems, reflecting the authority’s commitment to enhancing traffic flow and supporting tourism and economic development in the region.

In remarks to the Saudi Press Agency, Director General of the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services' branch in Al-Baha Region Eng. Misfer bin Mosleh Al-Malki said the region is witnessing the implementation of strategic projects that enhance road efficiency and boost tourism and economic movement. He noted that more than 129 kilometers of single-lane asphalt roads and over 73 kilometers of dual carriageways are currently under construction.

He further pointed out that a package of strategic projects worth nearly SAR100 million is being executed, stressing that these projects have had a positive impact on improving safety levels, reducing accident rates, and enhancing the efficiency of the road infrastructure in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
