Trademark activity also expanded, with 27,938 applications filed, up 15%, resulting in 18,784 registered marks. Design applications reached 1,153, marking a 26% rise, with 729 design certificates issued. In the copyright field, SAIP received 1,847 voluntary registration applications, a 52% increase, and granted 1,029 certificates.
The report noted that this sustained growth across all intellectual property categories reflects rising awareness among individuals and institutions of the importance of protecting intellectual property rights. It also underscores the Kingdom’s growing role as a regional and global hub for creativity and entrepreneurship, supported by a stimulating regulatory environment that advances a diversified knowledge economy.
