Handicrafts Fuel Northern Borders' Economic Growth

Arar, August (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز ‎‎‎ 27 أغسطس 2025ء) A significant driver of this growth is the Folk Market, which, since opening a decade ago, has empowered female artisans by providing them with permanent stalls, helping to strengthen the presence of women in the local economy.

Beyond its economic impact, the handicraft movement also has a cultural dimension. The region's culture and arts society displayed a 17-meter-long Al-Sadu art piece, which a local artisan created over several months. It was intricately woven and adorned with traditional lines and harmonious colors that reflect the beauty of this traditional craft.

These efforts to preserve and promote traditional handicrafts coincide with the official announcement of 2025 as the "Year of Handicrafts" in the Kingdom. The initiative aims to celebrate the cultural value of these crafts, ensure their continuity, and showcase the creativity of Saudi artisans both locally and internationally.
