Capitals, June (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 22 يونيو 2025ء) The visit included participation in the opening of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in Russia and its main session, which was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Several panel discussions featuring Saudi officials were also attended.
During the forum’s activities, Al-Jasser took part in a dialogue session focused on the ambitious targets and major projects outlined in the National Transport and Logistics Strategy. The discussion emphasized the importance of private sector involvement in financing and implementation, as well as the promotion of partnerships grounded in trust, transparency, and balanced risk-sharing.
In France, the minister attended the opening of the International Paris Air Show—the world’s largest gathering in the aviation and aerospace sector—held in the capital under the patronage of French Prime Minister François Bayrou.
The visit also included a signing ceremony for an air services agreement between the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Panama. Additionally, an agreement was signed between Avilease, an aircraft leasing company, and Airbus.
At the headquarters of the International Union of Railways (UIC), the delegation reviewed the organization’s roles, objectives, and global railway development efforts. Visits to SNCF and Alstom provided insight into key projects and technological innovations in rail transport.
Meetings were held with several public and private sector leaders, including French Minister Delegate for Transport Philippe Tabarot; Bahraini Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa; and Indian Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Discussions also took place with CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Special Envoy of the Russian President on Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation Kirill Alexandrovich Dmitriev, and First Deputy Chairman of the Executive board of Sberbank Group Alexander Vedyakhin.
The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation between the Kingdom and both the Russian Federation and the Republic of France in the fields of transport and logistics, enhance investment partnerships, and encourage Russian and French private sector engagement in promising opportunities within the Kingdom.
