BRUSSELS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd March, 2019) The European Union should take into consideration China's interest in Africa's natural resources and the role that Beijing is playing in Africa, Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel said Friday.
The relations with China were discussed at the European Council held on Thursday and Friday.
"There is another topic that we have to pay attention to, it is not just China's strategy in Europe, but also in Africa ... We have been seeing for several years the role that China plays or intends to play on the African continent with an interest in natural resources. It is something that we have to take into consideration," Michel told a press conference after the council meeting.
The European Union and China will hold a bilateral summit on April 9 in Brussels.
