Pakistan opens airspace for all international flights

International Air Transport Authority has been informed about the decision: CAA

ISLAMABAD- (Pakistan Point News – 9th March 2019) Pakistan on Saturday has opened its airspace for all international flights.

The international and local flights operation was suspended after the escalation of tension with India.

However, the Civil Aviation Authority notified opening of the airspace for all local and international flights from Saturday.

“International Air Transport Association has been informed about the decision,” said the CAA spokesperson.

He said Pakistan airspace was open now for all kind of international flights.

The CAA had issued a notification on Wednesday regarding the closure of airspace for domestic flights.

However, it allowed flight operations to and from Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta international airports, and partially from Lahore and Faisalabad with restricted routes. Similarly, flight operations from Multan, Chitral, Punjgur, Turbat and Gwadar airports were restarted on Wednesday but allowed on Thursday.

The CAA later gradually opened airspace for all domestic operation and also opened airspace for the international flights on Saturday.
