WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 13th February, 2019) Special Representative for Venezuela Elliott Abrams on Wednesday told Congress that the US government has started discussions with Venezuela's National Assembly, led by opposition leader Juan Guaido, about the fate of the Latin American country's debt to Russia.
"We've begun to have those discussions, primarily led by the Treasury. But interim government - the National Assembly - has said that they would repay debts. Some of those debts were never approved by the National Assembly. Ultimately, it's a decision that they are going to have to make," Abrams said.
