Munich Conference Participants Should Jointly Find Response to New Terror Threats - Merkel

BERLIN (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 09th February, 2019) The participants in the upcoming Munich Security Conference should jointly find a response to emerging new forms of terror threats, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Saturday.

The Munich Security Conference will be held in Germany on February 15-17.

"We are dealing with new forms of threats, mainly with Islamist terrorism. Here, we must find answers together, " Merkel said, referring to the Munich conference, as quoted by her press service.

Economic development in the African region would also be on the agenda of the conference as it is affects security and environmental issues, the German chancellor noted.

Founded in 1963, the Munich Security Conference brings together officials and decision-makers from around the world, as well as non-governmental organizations, industry, media and academic representatives to discuss conflict settlement, international cooperation and other security issues.
