Russia Registers 20 Ceasefire Violations in Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

Under the framework of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire, Russia has registered 20 truce breaches in the provinces of Idlib, Latakia, Hama, while Turkey has registered 15 cases of firing over past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 29th December, 2018) Under the framework of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire, Russia has registered 20 truce breaches in the provinces of Idlib, Latakia, Hama, while Turkey has registered 15 cases of firing over past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday.

"The Russian part of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 20 cases of firing in the provinces of Idlib (5), Latakia (8), Hama (7). The Turkish side has registered 15 cases of ceasefire in the provinces of Idlib (8), Hama (4), Latakia (3)," the ministry said in its daily bulletin.

According to the bulletin, over the past 24 hours, the ministry's center for Syrian reconciliation and refugee movement control carried out one humanitarian operation in Homs province, delivering 150 food sets.

The number of areas that signed reconciliation agreements has remained the same and currently amounts to 2,518. The number of armed formations claiming that they observe the ceasefire stands at 234.

Apart from being one of the guarantors of the ceasefire in Syria, Russia has been also assisting Damascus in the reconstruction process and the repatriation of refugees, with Russian military carrying out regular humanitarian actions across the country.
