Republican Ahead in Hotly Contested Senate Race in Indiana - Exit Polls

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th November, 2018) Republican Congressman Mike Braun has pulled ahead of the Democratic incumbent in the firecely fought Senate race in the US state of Indiana, exit polls showed.

Braun has secured 58.

7 percent percent of the votes, versus 37 percent for Democratic Senator Joe Donnelly, CNN reported, citing its own exit polls.

In Indiana, the most heavily Republican state in the northern tier of states surrounding the Great Lakes, polls in the run-up to the race have shown the two candidates closely tied. The race is one of eight Senate contests considered tossups, with the Democrats needing to flip only one seat to gain a majority.
