Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Says Syria Guarantors' Talks With UN 'Going on Well'

Talks between the guarantor states on Syria Russia, Turkey and Iran and UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura are developing positively, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin told Sputnik on Tuesday.

GENEVA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th September, 2018) Talks between the guarantor states on Syria Russia, Turkey and Iran and UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura are developing positively, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin told Sputnik on Tuesday.

"All is going on well," Vershinin said during a coffee break, asked about how the talks were proceeding.

The representatives of Russia, Turkey and Iran are currently holding a quadrilateral meeting with de Mistura to discuss the formation of the Syrian constitutional commission and Idlib situation.

Russia is represented by Special Presidential Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev and Vershinin, Turkey by Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Onal, and Iran by Deputy Foreign Minister Jaberi Ansari.
