UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs to Visit Syria Tuesday - Press Release

UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock will pay a visit to Damascus on Tuesday where he is expected to meet with Syrian government officials, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a press release.

GENEVA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th August, 2018) UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock will pay a visit to Damascus on Tuesday where he is expected to meet with Syrian government officials, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a press release.

"Mark Lowcock, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, is scheduled to be in the Syrian capital Damascus on 28 August on his second visit to Syria in 2018. Mr. Lowcock is scheduled to meet with government officials to discuss humanitarian issues related to, among other things, response planning and access," the press release read.

According to the press release, Lowcock is also expected to meet with representatives of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the UN team.

Lowcock's first visit to Syria as Emergency Relief Coordinator took place in January.
