Mi-28NE Attack Chopper Now Equipped With New Missiles, Bombs - Russian Helicopters

The Mi-28NE "Night Hunter" attack helicopter has been equipped with new weapons including the Khrizantema-M and Ataka anti-tank guided missiles, company Russian Helicopters said on Tuesday

KUBINKA (Moscow Region) (Pakistan Point news / Sputnik - 21st August, 2018) The Mi-28NE "Night Hunter" attack helicopter has been equipped with new weapons including the Khrizantema-M and Ataka anti-tank guided missiles, company Russian Helicopters said on Tuesday.

"The Night Hunter is equipped with the new Khrizantema-M anti-tank guided missile with a dual-channel guidance system. The use of this missile will increase the range at which armored targets can be intercepted to 10 kilometers [6 miles]. The helicopter also received the Ataka upgraded guided missiles with a laser guidance system and the ability to carry aerial bombs weighing up to 500 kilograms [1,102 pounds]," a representative of Russian Helicopters told reporters.

The helicopter can also remotely control unmanned aerial vehicles, according to the company.

The Mi-28NE is a highly effective new-generation helicopter, designed for combat missions that happen during the day or night, and in adverse weather conditions. The helicopter was created to take part in operations against tanks, infantry combat vehicles, and armored personnel carriers, among other targets. It has advanced flight capabilities and can execute aerobatic maneuvers.
