Serbian Foreign Minister to Hold Meeting With Russian Counterpart on Tuesday - Statement

Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic will hold a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the Russian resort city of Sochi on August 21, the Serbian Foreign Ministry said in statement on Monday.

BELGRADE (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 20th August, 2018) Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic will hold a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the Russian resort city of Sochi on August 21, the Serbian Foreign Ministry said in statement on Monday.

"Dacic will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Sochi, with whom he will discuss bilateral cooperation, regional and international issues," the statement read.

The ministry added that this would be a one-day visit.

The relations between the two countries are friendly, with joint military drills recently taking place in Russia, Dacic praising Russia for refusing to recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed republic of Kosovo, and Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin pledging that his country would never participate in the "anti-Russian hysteria" amid Moscow's tense relations with the West.
