OPC recovers abducted woman

LAHORE, (Pakistan Point News - 21th july, 2016) : As a result of concerted efforts put forth by the Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, the kidnapped sister of an expatriate Pakistani living in Spain has been recovered safely. According to a media release, as many as 11 accused, including eight police officials, involved in the case also were arrested. Commissioner OPC Punjab Afzaal Bhatti while giving details in this regard here on Thursday informed that an expatriate Pakistani, Shahzad Ahmed, had indulged in love-marriage with a girl of Pakistan origin in Spain.

However, the family members of the girl in Pakistan got infuriated and abducted the sister of Shahzad Ahmed from her residence in Mohalla islam Nagar, Mandi Bahauddin, and fled. OPC Punjab's Additional Director General (Police Matters)/DIG Ahmed Mubeen personally monitored the case and succeeded in safe recovery of the abducted woman within 24 hours. The Commissioner OPC expounded that SHO police station Miana Gondal and other police officials found involved in the case were arrested after suspension and raids were being conducted to arrest other accused as well.
