Eight of a family die as mother sets house on fire in Karachi

The mother was mentally unfit and was under treatment for two years.

Karachi (Pakistan Point News – 28th May, 2018) At least eight persons were killed as fire took place in a house in Karachi on Monday.

According to media reports, eight members of the same family were burnt to death as mentally unfit mother set the house ablaze in Malang Goth area of Baldia Town in Karachi.

Two other people were reportedly injured in the incident.

The fire brigade rushed to the site and put out the fire. Four people were already burnt to death as fire brigade reached while three other people succumbed to injuries on their way to hospital.

The dead have been identified as Gulzara Bibi, Nazia, Zafar, Naila, Rehan, Rukkaiya, Tayyab and Aqsa while Sajid and Sain Daad have been injured. The neighbors said that fire had engulfed the house as soon as they started making efforts to put it out.

According to police, mother Gulzara Bibi had set the house on fire. Injured Sajid said that the family was in the same room when fire took place while the father was sleeping outside that’s why he was saved.

Sajid said that the mother was mentally unfit and she was under treatment for two years.
