Trump Must Stop Bolton, Other Officials From Setting Their Own Foreign Policy - State Sen.

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 06th June, 2019) US President Donald Trump should stop White House National Security Adviser (NSA) John Bolton and other top officials from setting their own foreign policy, Virginia State Senator Richard Black told Sputnik.

"The president, I believe, should be more forceful with his top officials. And instead of influencing them, he needs to exert authority over them," Black said. "Frankly, he needs to fire some of them... He needs to do that so that you don't have people like John Bolton going off and setting their own foreign policy."

Trump, Black added, should not fire them "after tweets and tweets and tweets" but needs to tell these cabinet members directly that they must go immediately because these policies go against everything that he promised the American people.

Black went on to say that within the government there is a foreign policy establishment that "tends to operate rather independently of the president, sometimes in conflict with the president."

"I think it's particularly marked with John Bolton," the Senator stated, adding that the example was when Trump announced the withdrawal from Syria Bolton countermanded the commander-in-chief's order.

Trump should have ordered his staff to take everything from Bolton's office and pile it outside on the White House lawn in the rain, Black argued.

"But somehow John Bolton manages to survive, even though he countermanded the president's orders.

He tried to stage a coup in Venezuela and then within two days he's trying to create a war, a pretext for war against Iran," Black said. "This man needs to be on sedatives. John Bolton is an extraordinarily dangerous person who puts people all around the globe, including Americans, at an enormous risk."

Bolton's ultimate objective is to overthrow Iran must like the United States still has the objective of breaking Syria into parts and retain after 18-19 years the objective of subduing Afghanistan.

At the end of May, Black in a letter urged Trump to prevent Bolton from igniting a war with Iran.

In moves largely driven by Bolton, the United States over the past few weeks has deployed battleships, warplanes, carrier strike groups and Patriot missile systems to the Persian Gulf to threaten Iran for alleged troubling activities. However, the United States has failed to provide any evidence to substantiate the allegations.

Black told Trump that he was writing the letter, dated May 22, from a perspective of someone who served as a colonel in the Office of the US Judge Advocate General and exercised military justice authority over the middle East and North Africa. Black also said that he was a Marine wounded in Vietnam

The state senator also said in the letter that Trump campaigned on ending wars but now Bolton and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo are orchestrating a new conflict that could easily kill a million Iranians.
