Kazakh Energy Ministry Says May Start Talks on Oil Deliveries With Minsk Within 2 Weeks

NUR-SULTAN (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th May, 2019) SULTAN, May 28 (Sputnik) - Kazakhstan may start talks with Minsk on the possible deliveries of oil and oil products to Belarus within two weeks, Kazakh Energy Minister Kanat Bozumbayev said on Tuesday.

"So far, it's only the beginning, the ambassador came to the ministry, he expressed a desire and that's all. There are some wishes from Belarus, but technically their representatives will come this week, we will listen. There's not only gasoline, there's oil too," Bozumbayev told reporters.

On May 23, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Minsk was negotiating on the supply of oil from Kazakhstan and suggests their activation. Kazakh Ambassador to Minsk Yermukhamet Yertysbayev noted that Kazakhstan was ready to supply oil to the republic, but Russia must approve agreements between Minsk and Nur-Sultan, since the transportation of raw materials will be conducted via the pipeline located on its territory.
