Hamdan bin Rashid briefed about 'Compassionate Hearts' campaign in Egypt

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2019) H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, and the Patron of the Al-Maktoum Foundation, was briefed about the achievements of the ''Compassionate Hearts'' campaign in Egypt.

The information was conveyed to Sheikh Hamdan when he received the Foundation’s Representative, Dr. Salah Al Jarawi, in Egypt.

The initiative, launched by Sheikh Hamdan in 2016 in Egypt, includes a number of activities and charitable and humanitarian projects in Upper Egypt and conferences in the Egyptian universities.

Mirza Al Sayegh, member of the foundation's board of trustees said that Sheikh Hamdan has asked for doubling of the support for the campaign in the coming period, with more charitable programmes, given the strong relations between the UAE and Egypt and their peoples.

More than 50,000 food baskets were distributed during every Ramadan including this one, and each basket comprised foodstuff for a six-member family with sacrificial meat being distributed for the benefit of 10,000 families in three years, Al Jarawi noted.

He also referred to the agreement with Maj. General Ahmed Ibrahim, Governor of Aswan, to establish 360 projects of small and medium-sized enterprises for a year starting from next June at the rate of 30 projects per month.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Al Jarawi extended thanks to Sheikh Hamdan for the support.
