Syrian Foreign Ministry Slams Kurdish Militia for Brutal Crackdown

The Syrian Foreign Ministry urged the United Nations on Monday to stop the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from assaulting civilians protesters

DAMASCUS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 13th May, 2019) The Syrian Foreign Ministry urged the United Nations on Monday to stop the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from assaulting civilians protesters.

Syrian media reported that SDF forces moved in to disperse a rally in the eastern Deir Ez Zor province, killing a protester, while a militia attack on the town of Al Shheell with air support from the Western coalition killed a family of seven.

"SDF gangs responded to demands for better education and more water and food in this poor area by killing civilians and destroying the infrastructure," the ministry wrote.

In a letter to the UN chief and the Security Council, the Syrian authorities slammed the SDF and the US-led coalition as "terrorists," saying there had been demonstrations in eastern Syria demanding the withdrawal of Kurdish militias.
