The Board of Directors of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme approved 1,000 decisions to support housing, to mark the Holy Month of Ramadan and as part of its housing programme in 2019

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 08th May, 2019) The Board of Directors of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme approved 1,000 decisions to support housing, to mark the Holy Month of Ramadan and as part of its housing programme in 2019.

The approval is in implementation of the directives of the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the monitoring of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

The UAE Government has prioritised housing, wellbeing and social cohesion, stated Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development and Chairman of the Programme.

Aiming to realise the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid to establish a housing neighbourhood at Khor Fakkan in Sharjah’s Eastern Region, the programme’s board has approved the tendering process to provide engineering consultancy services for the planning, design and supervision of the construction of a 250-unit residential neighbourhood, he said.

The UAE’s leadership is keen to ensure the stability of Emirati families and achieve social cohesion, reflecting the country’s identity, he added. The tender aims to meet the standards of the "Quality of Life in Vital Residential Communities Manual" drafted by the Ministry of Happiness.

Dr. Al Nuaimi explained that every housing unit of the residential neighbourhood, located in Al Owainat, will have an estimated area of 360 square metres, with three to four bedrooms each that could be expanded in the future. It will cost between AED800 million to AED1 billion and is expected to be completed by the end of 2022, he said.

He also praised the role of the Sharjah Government and its cooperation in providing land for the project.

The programme has built five residential neighbourhoods around the country since its establishment, totalling 1,490 housing units. The neighbourhood of Al Soyooh in Sharjah is the first one in the emirate. Currently, three more are being constructed around the country, comprising 1,990 housing units.
