Competitions of speeches, songs and paintings on Kalam-e-Iqbal' among the students of local colleges and Universities were held here on Monday at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU)

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News / Online - 29th April, 2019) Competitions of speeches, songs and paintings on Kalam-e-Iqbal' among the students of local colleges and Universities were held here on Monday at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU).

It was part of the University's consistent efforts motivating the youth to seek guidance from Kalam-e-Iqbal for their positive and constructive role in the society.The competitions were arranged by the Rawalpindi region on the occasion of 81st anniversary of the Great Muslim poet and scholar.

Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zia-ul-Qayyum in his message on the occasion assured that the University will continue providing a platform to the students to hold discussion and debate on life and work of Dr.

Iqbal and their other national heroes.He congratulated the winners of the competitions and hoped they will mobilize their talents and energy for the betterment of the country.The holders of top positions were given trophies and certificates.

Director Regional Services Inam Ullah Sheikh was the chief guest.Dean Social Sciences Dr. Samina Awan presided over the function and spoke about the message given by Dr. Iqbal to youth for their proper up-bringing.

She underlined the need of practicing his thoughts in order to revive the glory of the past.Earlier, Director Rawalpindi Region Dr. Malik Tuqeer Ahmed Khan highlighted the objectives of the function at the jump-packed University's auditorium.
