MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th April, 2019) Russian experts have started safety inspections at the airports of the Egyptian resort cities of Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh, a spokeswoman for the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) told Sputnik.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov told Sputnik that Russian aviation safety specialists would visit Egypt in the second half of April.
"Russian specialists began inspecting safety at the airports of Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh," the spokeswoman said.
Russia suspended civilian air traffic to Egypt in November 2015 after a bomb brought down a Russian plane en route from Sharm El-Sheikh to St. Petersburg, killing all 224 people on board.
Flights between the Russian and the Egyptian capitals were resumed in April 2018 after the Egyptian authorities made the desired improvements to security.
