India to hand over Pakistani prisoner’s dead body today

A Pakistani prisoner was stoned to death in an Indian jail due to soaring tensions between the two countries.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 2nd March, 2019) The dead body of Pakistani prisoner who was stoned to death in Indian jail will be handed over to Pakistan today.

The dead body of Shakir Ullah will be handed over to his heirs in Pakistan today.

According to details, Shakir Ullah belongs to Sialkot and was awarded life sentence in India in 2017. Shakir was originally a Christian but had converted to islam in 1997.

Upon receiving the news of his death, Shakir’s brother had appealed Prime Minister Imran Khan to demand his dead body so the family could see him for the last time.

The brother appealed that it’s been 13 years since he saw his brother.

Shakir’s body will be brought to Pakistan today and handed over to his family.

Shakir was stoned to death in an Indian jail due to soaring tensions between the two countries.

According to media reports, the Pakistani prisoner was murdered in Jaipur central jail after a quarrel with other prisoners. Three inmates reportedly stoned him to death.

This was confirmed by Indian Jail IG Rupinder Singh who said, "A Pakistani prisoner has been allegedly murdered in Jaipur central jail."

The incident happened after the relations between India and Pakistan significantly aggravated following Pulwama attack in Kashmir where at least 44 Indian paramilitary soldiers were killed.

After the attack, India accused Pakistan of having a "direct hand" in the incident and blamed the neighbouring nation for harbouring and protecting terrorists.

Pakistan had denied its involvement in the attack while Prime Minister Imran Khan has asured India of thorough action if it provides any actionable intelligence.
