MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 19th February, 2019) The US accusations against Russia of INF violations by the 9M729 missile are solely based on "intelligence data" fabricated by the CIA and the US National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said Tuesday.
The Daily Beast newspaper reported February 18 citing sources familiar with the CIA report that US intelligence officers claimed the Russian authorities had not presented the 9M729 cruise missile at a briefing for foreign representatives on January 23.
"It has become absolutely clear that all the accusations against Russia of building the 9M729 missile, allegedly violating the INF Treaty, are based solely on fabricated 'intelligence data' by the CIA and the US Geospatial Intelligence Agency," Konashenkov said.
He said the claims were US security services' attempts to evade responsibility for lies.
