Comedian Zelenskiy Leads Ukrainian Presidential Race With 23% - Poll
Comedian Volodymyr Zelenskiy is currently projected to receive 23 percent of the vote in Ukraine's presidential election, while support for Yulia Tymoshenko, the candidate from Ukraine's pro-European Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) party, has dropped to 15.7 percent, a fresh poll revealed on Wednesday
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 13th February, 2019) Comedian Volodymyr Zelenskiy is currently projected to receive 23 percent of the vote in Ukraine's presidential election, while support for Yulia Tymoshenko, the candidate from Ukraine's pro-European Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) party, has dropped to 15.7 percent, a fresh poll revealed on Wednesday.
Earlier polls suggested that Zelenskiy would receive 21.9 percent of the vote, while Tymoshenko was projected to get 19.2 percent.
"If Ukraine's presidential election took place today, then .
.. 23% of respondents would vote for Zelenskiy, 16.4% for the acting head of state, Petro Poroshenko, and 15.7% for leader of Batkivshchyna party Yulia Tymoshenko," the Ukrainian Center for Social and Marketing Research SOCIS said.
The poll added that 20.5 percent of respondents thought Poroshenko would win the election, 19.9 percent expected Tymoshenko would prevail, and just 10.8 percent anticipated Zelenskiy's victory.
The survey was conducted on January 16-29 among 11,000 people across Ukraine.
