Russians' Trust in TV Drops Almost Twofold Since 2015 - Poll

Russians's level of trust in television as a source of information dropped from 63 percent in 2015 to 36 percent in 2019, while trust in news websites has grown, a poll by the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) revealed on Friday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th January, 2019) Russians's level of trust in television as a source of information dropped from 63 percent in 2015 to 36 percent in 2019, while trust in news websites has grown, a poll by the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) revealed on Friday.

In 2019, some 20 percent of respondents rely on websites, and 11 percent trust forums, blogs and social networks, as compared to 15 and 4 percent in 2015, respectively.

Around 8 percent of Russians chose printed press as the most trusted information source. Radio and conversations with relatives or friends are each relied on by 7 percent of people.

A total of 27 percent said there were no trusted information sources for them, while 7 percent of respondents found it difficult to answer.

The poll was conducted on January 19-20 among 1,500 respondents across Russia.
