US Not Behind on Hypersonics in Terms of Research, Development - Pentagon
WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th January, 2019) The United States is not behind on hypersonics with regards to research and development and it will take a few years to build competing systems, Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering Michael Griffin told reporters on Thursday.
"In terms of fundamental research and development the United States is not behind... we in fact pioneered all that in hypersonics," Griffin said. "How long it will take us to build competing systems, you know, a few years. You'll see these things start to emerge in the middle part of the coming decade."
