UK Labour Party Leader Calls on May to Rule Out No-Deal Brexit

LONDON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th January, 2019) Leader of the UK Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn called on Wednesday on country's Prime Minister Theresa May to rule out the UK withdrawal from the European Union without any agreement with the bloc.

Earlier in the day, the UK Parliament rejected the motion of no confidence in May's government.

"Last night the House rejected the government's deal, emphatically. A week ago the House voted to condemn the idea of a no deal Brexit, before there can be any positive discussions about the way forward the government must remove, clearly and once and for all, the prospect of the catastrophe of no deal and all the chaos that would come as a result of that and I invite the prime minister to confirm now that the government will not countenance a no deal Brexit from the European Union," Corbyn said addressing to the House of Commons and May.

On Tuesday, the parliament voted against the previous plan on the UK withdrawal from the European Union, backed by May.

The United Kingdom voted in favor of Brexit in 2016 and is set to depart from the European Union by late March 2019.
