Number of Victims of Gas Blast in Russia's Shakhty Grows to 4 - Emergencies Ministry

Rescuers have recovered bodies of the third and fourth victims of a household gas blast which took place on Monday in the southwestern Russian city of Shakhty, the Russian Emergencies Ministry said Tuesday

SHAKHTY (Rostov Region) (Pakistan Point news / Sputnik - 15th January, 2019) Rescuers have recovered bodies of the third and fourth victims of a household gas blast which took place on Monday in the southwestern Russian city of Shakhty, the Russian Emergencies Ministry said Tuesday.

Earlier data suggested that the incident claimed two lives, while seven people have been pulled alive from under the rubble, and another three were still missing.

"Bodies of two more victims, a man and a woman, were found in the apartment 68. The fate of one man remains unknown," Vyacheslav Butko, the head of Moscow Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, told reporters.

He added that the task was to complete search and rescue operations on Tuesday.
